The Commuting Hub
Honestly, the sheer scale of the MOA Complex can be super overwhelming if you visit on a weekend. It's a massive reclaimed area right along Manila Bay that houses the SM Mall of Asia, the MOA Arena, SMX Convention Center, and several luxury offices and condos. Commuting here is actually pretty straightforward because it's a major terminal hub. You can take the MRT-3 to Taft Avenue Station or the LRT-1 to EDSA Station, and then walk downstairs to catch a jeepney directly to the mall terminal. The EDSA Carousel bus also has a direct stop right at the complex. Just a heads up, the traffic during weekend evenings is absolute madness, especially when there's a concert at the Arena or a major convention at SMX, so prepare for long queues when heading home.
Sunset Views and Baywalk Dining
Despite the crowds, the complex offers some of the best sunset views in the city. The SM By the Bay area is lined with outdoor restaurants, amusement rides, and a long seaside boardwalk where you can jog or just sit and watch the sun go down. It's the perfect spot for merienda or late-night drinks.
Workspaces and Giant Distances
Anyway, if you need to get some work done, the mall itself has countless coffee shops with decent Wi-Fi and power outlets, particularly around the newer IMAX building and the upscale S Maison mall. S Maison is usually less crowded than the main mall if you're looking for a quieter space. For transport inside, you can catch the local electric shuttles that circle the main mall areas for a small fee. It saves you from sweating in the midday heat when moving between the north and south parking buildings. Just be prepared to do a lot of walking, as the distances between buildings are huge. We highly recommend wearing comfortable sneakers because you'll easily hit your 10,000 steps just walking from one end of the complex to the other.
