World-Class Fusion in the Entertainment City
Nobu has a massive reputation worldwide, and the Manila branch at the City of Dreams doesn't disappoint. The menu merges traditional Japanese cooking techniques with bold Peruvian flavors, a style that chef Nobu Matsuhisa perfected. The indoor dining area is sleek and dark with warm wood accents, but if you want something really cool, try to book one of the outdoor cabanas surrounded by water features. The black cod miso is absolutely legendary here—it is buttery, sweet, and melts in your mouth. Honestly, the food is expensive, but the quality of ingredients and presentation are top-tier. It is the kind of place where you go to impress a client or treat your partner on an anniversary. The service is very polished and professional, which is exactly what you pay for.
If you are not in the mood for a heavy dinner, you can also hang out at the bar and lounge area. They serve great signature sake and cocktails, along with a selection of hot and cold dishes from the sushi bar. The yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño is another crowd favorite that you should definitely try. The atmosphere is upscale, so dressing up is highly recommended—flip-flops and shorts might feel a bit out of place here.
Getting There Without Losing Your Mind
Located inside the sprawling City of Dreams complex, getting to Nobu requires some planning. If you are coming from BGC or Makati, the NAIA Expressway (NAIAx) is a lifesaver, bypassing the nightmare traffic of Andrews Avenue. Just note that the tolls can add up quickly. If you are commuting via public transpo, you can take the MRT-3 to Taft Avenue Station, then hop on a jeepney or ride-hailing car heading towards the Entertainment City. The EDSA Carousel bus also has stops near the area. Once you arrive, the valet parking is super convenient, but the self-parking area is also huge. Just a heads up, the walk from the parking garage to the Nobu Hotel lobby can be quite long, so give yourself an extra ten minutes so you are not late for your reservation.
