Sophisticated Retail in Wack-Wack

If you are looking for a highly polished, quiet retail environment in the Ortigas area, Shangri-La Plaza (commonly called "Shang" by locals) is the place to be. Honestly, it stands in stark contrast to the nearby SM Megamall, which is always overflowing with massive crowds. The mall is known for its elegant multi-level layout, high-end department stores, and excellent selection of international dining spots.

Getting to Shangri-La Plaza is very convenient via public transit. The mall is directly connected to the Shaw Boulevard MRT Station, so you can walk straight from the train platform into the mall's concourse without stepping out into the heat or rain. If you're coming by road, you can take a bus or UV Express along EDSA or Shaw Boulevard. But if you're traveling during the evening EDSA rush hour, the entire intersection near crossing becomes a complete parking lot. So, we highly recommend taking the MRT if you want to avoid getting stuck in traffic for hours. If you are driving, the basement parking is spacious, but the layout is slightly confusing, so remember which pillar you parked near.

Anyway, the main wing and the newer East Wing host a wide range of luxury boutiques and independent local labels. The cinemas at Shang are also legendary for their comfortable seating and great acoustics, making it a popular spot for indie film festivals.
