A Quiet Escape on the Fourth Floor
Located on the fourth level of SM Megamall Building A, the Art Walk is an entire floor section dedicated to art galleries and frame shops. It houses some of the most established galleries in the country, showcasing paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media works by both veteran Filipino masters and emerging contemporary artists. Honestly, it's one of the quietest and most relaxing sections in the entire mall, offering a quiet escape from the loud crowds downstairs.
Walking through the corridor, you can view different art styles, from realistic landscapes to abstract sculptures, without the formal pressure of traditional museums. Most galleries allow you to wander in and look around for free, though taking photos of individual artworks is sometimes restricted depending on the gallery's rules. If you're looking to purchase local art or just want to see what Manila's contemporary artists are up to, this is the default mall hub to check out.
Commuting to the Art Corridor
Since it's inside SM Megamall, the transit options are exactly the same. You take the MRT-3 to Ortigas or Shaw Boulevard Station and walk. If you're specifically targeting Building A, Ortigas Station is slightly closer. Commuter tip: The walk from the station can get hot and sweaty during the day, so taking the mall's indoor paths as soon as you enter the Building B entrance is a smart way to stay in the air-conditioning and avoid the sidewalk heat.
